--First of all, yes it gives West Virginia another experienced quarterback in the derby to find Will Grier's replacement. But no, it does not automatically mean that he is going to be the starter. Doege has by far the most experience of the group with 17 consecutive starts compared to only one start combined from the other three but he didn't arrive until the summer and is obviously going to be behind some of those that have. Good news is he has been getting reps and there is something to be said about being on the field before.

If it's really that close the experience is going to make a major difference but if he's behind it gives the coaches the luxury of not needing to rush anything. It could create shorter leashes for the eventual winner of the battle but competition is never a bad thing.
