--The early signing period is approaching and it gives us a few days to let things play out. I expect that West Virginia will sign 20-22 Wednesday, although that could change depending on what unfolds with late targets.
--The good news is barring a massive surprise, I think that all of the players currently committed to the Mountaineers will indeed sign with them.
As for remaining targets:
West Virginia continues to work Melbourne (Fla.) Central Catholic 2024 wide receiver Ric'Darious Farmer who is committed to UCF. He took an unofficial visit Dec. 8 and spent time with quarterback commitment Khalil Wilkins. At this point, the Mountaineers have made up some ground but it's unclear if that will be enough. Still one to circle.
Aiken (S.C.) Midland Valley 2024 running back Traevon Dunbar took his official visit Dec. 8 and the trip went very well. He has been radio silent since that point but West Virginia is definitely out in front of his recruitment and it would be a surprise at this point if the Mountaineers don't land him.
Princeton (W.Va.) 2024 wide receiver Dominick Collins received a scholarship offer from West Virginia Sunday and it seems clear at this stage that as long as all boxes are checked the Mountaineers are the favorite for the in-state prospect. He was timed with a blazing 40 during his time in Morgantown for a one-day camp and could slot in at several spots such as wide receiver, running back and special teams with his speed.
And finally transfers.
Ohio State linebacker Reid Carrico is one to watch after visiting Morgantown twice. The Mountaineers also are in the mix for several others including Colorado State cornerback TJ Crandall who is down to West Virginia and UCLA. Villanova cornerback Devon Marshall took an official visit to Morgantown and was expected to head to Tennessee, but I can confirm that he did not visit North Carolina State. Transfers typically march to their own beat, but there are more that the coaches are looking at down the stretch.
