It talks about the main culprit being the 35 second shot clocks and possibly reducing the clock to 24 or 30 seconds. While that would increase scoring, I doubt it does anything to the length of games which to me is a bigger issue than the low scoring.

During the conference tournament season, far too many games were lasting 2:30 plus. 40 minutes of action stretched over 150 minutes is insane:

Here are OM's 5 easy ways to shorten games:

reduce team timeouts from 5-4 with 2 of the 4 being 30 second time outs. only 3 carry-over (saves at least 4 mins) administer free throws more quickly. The length of time between the foul reported to the table and the first shot is way too long. Same goes for getting the ball back in play after an out of bounds ((saves 2-3 mins).Reduce the 16-12-8-4 Media timeouts to 120 seconds vs 150 seconds (saves 4 minutes)Don't go to the monitor to check time unless there is actual knowledge that the clock didn't stop or was started incorrectly. (the use of the monitor has become problematic IMO)eliminate the 30 seconds to replace a player who has fouled out.
