Covid does have a secondary impact when an already short handed police staff experiences a break out. Or when hundreds of un vaxed migrants are dumped in your city after midnight. Or when the police are afraid to come with in 10 feet of a perp. But other than that, you are right.

Crime is higher in cities...period. More people in a small area and an urban atmosphere = more crime. There are virtually no conservative cities with more than 250K. Based on that criteria there are very few conservative cities, and on the scale of liberal to conservative those cities aren't very conservative at all. So, to say crime is only present in liberal cities is better said as crime is present in most if not all cities.
