Sad state of affairs in Herdzakistan when it comes to TV coverage

John Lennon told us "money can't buy me love"....he should have walked the strip in Vegas!

You did a nice job of hi-jacking this thread. So how 'bout telling your fellow herdiots what network is going to broadcast the Marshall - Pitt game........they are about to go into melt down about it.

This is my next venture. Don't have a lot of confidence it will turn out the way I want it to, but you never know. Gonna shoot for 7% on it.

Northern Brewer has a killer vanilla porter kit. They also post their recipes. My elk unit in Colorado includes Breckenridge. I image I will have several visits to the brewery particularly while my wife is out there prior to the hunt. The Breckenridge Vanilla Porter is one of her favorites.

I made a pumpkin porter last year for the late November games. To me a porter is a cold weather beer.

Not a craft beer, but one of the best beers I ever had was Fuller's London Porter. I bought one and tried it, went back and bought a 6 pack and have never been able to buy it locally since. Just one after dinner is all you want, so rich and flavorful.

I had one of the Weihenstefaners at a bar in NC once on a dive trip and absolutely loved it.

When I got back to MD I went around and none of the stores had it.

I went online and found the importer that brings it in, and then found the distributors that they distribute to and then looked at what stores the distributor serviced. I went in and said I want to order a case of this "we aren't sure if we can get it, we'll have to check with the distributor", I said "I already did, and yes you can". LOL

I'm not big on porters mostly, but definitely when it gets colder I like to have one. Like you said, one is all you want. One goes a long way.

I made a holiday spice ale last year and an Oktoberfest too. Both of them were popular at the tailgates.

I need to get busy brewing more. I have 3 in the kegerator and the strawberry blond that hasn't gone in yet, but I'm not sure how much is left of what's in the kegerator. I'm running out of time to have a new beer ready by the KSU game. (I do forced carbonation though, so that cuts down some of the time at the end)

Forced carbonation is a good thing. I don't like the dead yeast in the bottom of the bottle. Until now I didn't have time to do much home brewing but now I do......and I've got a friend who has all the equipment but no longer brews anything. So I may see about buying his CO2 tanks, regulator, and his coke kegs.

I have 6 corny kegs in all. I haven't bottled in a long long time, but with keg carbonation you get a fair amount of dead yeast in the bottom too. Forced carb is better.

A place near here took old fire extinguishers (the big ones that would be on the wall at our schools when we were little) and filling them with CO2. I have one of those for my kegerator with a manifold that splits it out to the 3 kegs. (I'm thinking of getting a 3 regulator setup instead, so I can control the pressure of each keg individually) Then I have my little 5 pound CO2 bottle with a splitter on the line to feed 2 kegs at tailgates. I did have the picnic taps, but am looking forward to the jockey box. I even got nice tap handles with little chalk boards on them so I can write what beer is in each tap.

None of these craft beers is as good as Fosters on tap. Nothing like an excellent lager.

I am really not sure Fosters would qualify as a quality lager thou on a hot day I have enjoyed a few oil cans myself. I have graded a couple of sets of beer judging exams from Australia and it was pretty obvious that those folks don't get exposed to much quality beer. My daughter is living there now says the local beers suck. South Africa is even worse.

Isn't it a myth/marketing gimmick that Fosters is an Australian beer? Fosters used to be shipped in Molson kegs when I ordered them many years ago, and I think that its made in Britain. The Aussies apparently don't like it all. LOL

That's a fact...interested to see who the Cousins root for....they'll probably just pull for injuries! Hahahahaha

I am pulling for the herd to beat pitt by triple digits... I haven't watched a herd game in a long time, but assuming I can find it on TV, I might watch some of this one (depending on what other games are on). I think most of the fan base will be pulling for the herd, especially us older guys.
