No loyalty to WVU if opening comes at Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU or any other school on part of the country he's gone.. Period the end. This is shitshow and many have the same opinion. There's more than one coach with West Virginia tiesk more acceptable.I think he will do fine. I think this may end up being a great hire. We will see.
There is no loyalty any where, coaches, admin or players. Fans maybe. The last stand of loyalty. No loyalty to WVU if opening comes at Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU or any other school on part of the country he's gone.. Period the end. Fans are no longer loyal either. Except us old ones and we're all getting pretty tired of the bullshit. There is no loyalty any where, coaches, admin or players. Fans maybe. The last stand of loyalty.
Texas job already open. Why didn't he take it now?No loyalty to WVU if opening comes at Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU or any other school on part of the country he's gone.. Period the end. Nick SabanTexas job already open. Why didn't he take it now?
Who are the coaches left that have West Virginia ties?
Fans are the cause of this mess. Take them away and the sport goes bye bye. There is no loyalty any where, coaches, admin or players. Fans maybe. The last stand of loyalty.
You want to know why it seems underwhelming?I hope the dude does great but this is pretty underwhelming overall so far. š¤·
I doubt he comes to WVU. Could be wrong. Hope I'm wrong.McNeely is in the portal...wouldn't that be just what the Dr ordered...can only hope
Where was Don Nehlen from when WVU hired him? Give the guy a chance. Some people come here and fall in love with the state, university, and fans. That might be true, but how fickle are the fans? This is Wrenās 4th basketball HC hire for women and men, and he hit a homerun with all 3 prior. Our issue has been keeping them because theyāve been so good. I trust Wren more than a bunch of booster/ donor opinions who believe it has to be a WV native or a washed up Bobby Huggins. Wren is a basketball guy.I'm ok with the hire. Baker is sticking his neck out a bit. If Hodge can win, all will be forgiven. NIL money may suffer for a while.
Why do you care? You hate WVU and cheer for anyone playing them. Hit the road clown.McNeely is in the portal...wouldn't that be just what the Dr ordered...can only hope

Not true. The social media posts about Ross Hodge are mostly not good. No one cares about this dude. I already feel bad for him because hes coming in here with half the fan base not even wanting him here because all the guys they wanted went somewhere else. Is this guy better than a washed up Bob Huggins? Actually maybe not lol. We'll see I hope he does well but he has a mountain to climb and its a big one. This feels exactly what it looks like. We hired a no name who shouldn't even be considered for this job, but nobody wants to come here because we have shown that we're not loyal to even Hall of fame coaches who put their life into it. What coach would want to coach here after all that? Ross hodge apparently.
We cut off our nose to spite our face and the program is sinking over it. I hope Ross can fix this mess but I have very little faith he can.
Baker was in the unfortunate position of having to hire a coach in a year when the top up and comers had ties to other jobs that were open. Baker was forced to have to speculate on who the next group of up and comers were going to be. Hodge may not have been the sexiest of names but that doesn't mean he may not turn out to be good. Remember when we hired Beilen he wasn't our 1st choice, and he turned out fine. In the case of Beilen he was more like our 7th or 8th choice before we landed on him. No one knows how Hodge will turn out at this point, but Huggins is nothing but average at best at this point in his career. Schools that are moving forward are not hiring average at best. If half the fan base doesn't want Hodge as you say, then that's too bad but half the fan base doesn't want Huggins back either so it's a wash. Bringing Huggins back would not have fallen into the category of underwhelming it would have fallen into the category of pathetic. The social media posts about Ross Hodge are mostly not good. McNeese State also passed on Huggins. He has baggage and is 72, 1 year younger than me. Believe me, I know there is not a lot of gas left in the tank at that age. WVU and Hodge have agreed on a five-year contract.Maybe I missed it but have the contract details been posted?
Go out and do whatever makes you happy..golf, fish, screw around in a garden..whatever it is just be good to yourself..these sports mean nothingMcNeese State also passed on Huggins. What are you Huggin's daughter or something? The guy is 72 years old it's time to move on from him. Up until Devries departure things were looking up again so I'm not sure what you mean when you say we are paying a price for Huggin's firing. No one knows How Hodge will turn out but at his age his upside is higher than what a 72-year-old washout brings at this point.I've never denied that Huggins isn't as good as a coach as he used to be but the fact remains, we are paying a price for firing him because it was dumb and bad timing. But still, you or i really don't know if hes average or above average or below average anymore because it's just a guess. I mean seriously you can't really sit there and say Huggins is worse than Ross hodge. It's dishonest if you do. Ross has a lot to prove. You and many others don't like Huggins, I get it, and for that I hope he uses Cinci as the school he advertises and advocates for as a hall of famer in retirement. Wvu doesn't deserve that at all imo.
Yes, I cannot think of one benefit to bring Huggins back. Not one. It would be a national PR disaster for the school and program. We would look desperate. And if thatās not enough, he wasnāt winning at the level he used to. Heās past his prime. I thank him for what he did here, but letās be real. Like you said, heās 72 and a full blown alcoholic with a checkered past. Why should we risk that maybe this time heās a recovered alcoholic? He supposedly did that after Cincinnati fired him for the same thing. Nevermind he always said he would āfix itā with his team, he always struggled to fix himself. I wish him the best. Truly. WVU needs to move on and so does Huggins. What are you Huggin's daughter or something? The guy is 72 years old it's time to move on from him. Dang, you must have a spy cam on me! Sounds pretty much like my life! I do love basketball, gets me through the winter when it's too cold for all that. I think all will be well and all manner of things will be well. I think Huggins has moved on more than certain fans have. Looking forward to the Hodge era.Yes, I cannot think of one benefit to bring Huggins back. Not one. I have a feeling he will do great things at WVU. Sleeping Giant!!!I think Huggins has moved on more than certain fans have. Looking forward to the Hodge era.
