Other than the BS of yesterday's 2nd half/foul discrepancy, and the occasional head scratcher today (the ball hitting off a ref when it would have ended up on the stands and giving AZ another possession), was pretty consistent, particularly in terms of letting players go at it (the game was not about the stripes for a change). They allowed both teams to bang, draw and deliver contact and did not feel so inclined to call their whistle at the rim, on the boards, etc. I think we adjusted very well to that style.
I was worried about size being able to play in a physical Big 12, and worried about bench depth... I thought the only win we might get would be Davidson.
We just outworked/outbanged two teams who are loaded with McDonald All-Americans, and then dominated in OT. For all intents and purposes, we beat a 3rd team that will be ranked come Monday (save for getting the Phog job from the refs in the second half)...
This team will be able to hold its own against most any big 12 team... and maybe beat a KU at home. Thought 16-17 wins would be a stretch and now believe we can surpass... love the style of play, motion on O and how we recover on D switches, and all 5 guys board.
