Curious how most think we should approach recruiting this year and next. High school players that can be developed over a 3-4 year period certainly provide the basis for a sustainable, solid program. But, not sure we (or even our staff) will have the patience to wait upwards of 3 years to get back to winning 9+ games and competing for conference titles.
I think we have to hit the transfer portal hard (and/or in some cases JUCO's) over the next couple recruiting classes to quickly shore-up 6-7 key positions (notably line play). Then fill out the classes with hopefully some really good high school talent. So, maybe 25-30% of our recruits from transfers /JUCO and 70-75% high schoolers.
What do you guys think?
