West Virginia now needs to replace outside linebackers coach Al Pogue, who had one year left on his contract and was set to make $225,000.

Ron West WVU -- West has a long career that has spanned plenty of different stops. He has no shortage of experience and has coached with Koenning before. The question would be if West Virginia wants to stay in-house or if he wants to leave his post as a senior analyst.
Keith Gilmore Available -- Gilmore has 30+ years of experience coaching and has overlapped with Koenning. He is currently available, but could get a look.
Dan Disch Available -- A former co-defensive coordinator Disch has experience in a number of roles where he has coached the linebackers and secondary.
WVU TIES
Anthony Leonard IUP -- Leonard played linebacker at West Virginia but has spent the last four years at IUP where he has had success.
Jeff Casteel -- The long time defensive coordinator in Morgantown certainly has the experience to handle the job but it remains to be seen if he is a prime candidate.
Chris Haering Wisconsin -- Haering has a background in special teams and on defense and was a former West Virginia player. He served as a graduate assistant and has only seen his career take off from there.
OTHER CANDIDATES
Ricky Brumfield Virginia - In his 18th year of coaching and now at Virginia as the special team's coordinator. Had previous stops at UTSA, Western Kentucky, Nicholls State and even Fairmont State. His units have had success with the Cavaliers.
Rod Chance Minnesota - Chance joined the Minnesota staff last season as the cornerbacks coach and also had stints as an analyst at Oregon and the defensive coordinator at Southern Utah.
Jeff Burris Louisiana Tech - A South Carolina native, Burris is currently on staff at Louisiana Tech as the cornerbacks coach and also spent time as an analyst at Notre Dame.
Jeff Burrow Buffalo - The safeties coach at Buffalo, Burrow was the safeties coach at Kent State for six years before that and was promoted to co-defensive coordinator. A native of Georgia which has had other stops in his career.

Dave Plungas Robert Morris -- The defensive coordinator at Robert Morris and spent three years coaching linebackers at Albany. A young coach that seems primed for a bigger role soon.
