Yes, this is outstanding info...

You're really adding a ton of value to the board, TRS. Can't say enough about what a great addition your info continues to be.

Combined adjusted offense and defense... This is the best I've got so far in terms of ranking the best teams in the country. Remember it doesn't count wins and losses, just who you've played and how well you played them vs. their other opponents. Notre Dame only moved up one spot, and is still behind OU (although that gap closed considerably), but they drug the rest of their opponents up quite a bit with that performance also. Keep telling yourselves Arizona is average if you want too...

1. Oregon - 3.536
2. Alabama - 3.241
3. Kansas State - 2.566[/B]
4. Oklahoma - 2.563[/B]
5. Notre Dame - 2.108
6. Texas A&M - 1.854
7. Florida - 1.637
8. Florida State - 1.627
9. Cincinnati - 1.492 (small sample still)
10. Texas Tech - 1.468[/B]
11. Mississippi State - 1.384
12. Arizona - 1.270
13. Clemson - 1.245
14. BYU - 1.237
15. Ohio State - 1.220
16. Fresno State - 1.185
17. Oklahoma State - 1.177[/B]
18. Nebraska - 1.116
19. Louisville - 1.104
20. Boise State - 1.096
21. South Carolina - 1.012
22. Utah State - 0.973
23. Michigan - 0.968
24. Penn State - 0.955
25. Georgia - 0.930
26. LSU - 0.865
27. Iowa State - 0.794[/B]
28. San Jose State - 0.768
29. Michigan State - 0.766
30. Stanford - 0.707

33. Texas - 0.669[/B]
39. West Virginia - 0.528[/B]
59. TCU - 0.120[/B]
65. Baylor - -0.018[/B]
86. Kansas - -0.587[/I]

Kansas State moved up from #4
Oklahoma dropped from #2
Texas Tech dropped from #5
Oklahoma State moved up from #27
Iowa State dropped from #22
Texas dropped from #13 (this is what happened to us after Kansas also, we are still recovering)
West Virginia dropped from #32
TCU dropped from #44
Baylor dropped from #54
Kansas moved up from #91

Side note... The comment about Arizona is because a lot of people at OSI are still complaining about OSU's performance in that game. It wasn't great, obviously, but there were extenuating circumstances and I think it's a tad silly to constantly bad mouth an opponent rather than give them the respect they earned on the field. We lost to a good football team in Tuscon. The Texas game is the one that hurt.

You probably won't get a whole lot of love for Arizona here. Lol Not much love for Rich Rodriguez in the Mountain State. :) They are a strange team. Big win over a good OSU team. Then later they lose 3 straight including a complete blowout loss to Oregon. And then they win 2 straight including a win over USC. Definitely up & down with a new coaching staff.

I have no love for Arizona either. We've played them three years running, which is the same as Iowa State, Kansas and Kansas State. They basically feel like a cross division conference rival right now. That comment made it over here because I cut and pasted what I wrote at OSI. I imagine every fan base has members that think they're smarter than the coaches and tougher than the players. In our's they continuously point to that game as if it was a gimme win that we screwed up. It was certainly winnable, but pretending that loss was akin to dropping a game against Southwestern Utah (is there one of those?) rubbed me the wrong way. They're three straight losses were to Oregon, Oregon State and Stanford, all pretty good football teams. Despite getting beat 49-0 against Oregon they probably played them better than anyone else has prior to USC today, and no one has done to the Oregon State and Stanford defenses what they did in their losses. Those three games, and the win against my Cowboys, are why they do so well in this metric. Their offense looks nearly elite considering the defenses they've faced and what they've accomplished. That will obviously change after the egg they laid tonight against UCLA.
