I think there may be a lot of mis-information on the status of Dana's contract, and the need for immediate resolution is premature.
Please correct me if I am wrong:
1). Holgs has two more seasons left on a six year contract. He is under contract to coach the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
2). If Holgs leaves of his own volition before the contract expires, WVU gets paid $2 million. VPI paid a $500,000 buyout to Memphis to hire Fuente.
3). The cost for WVU to buy out Dana goes down each year.
Based on that information, there is no reason for any decisions at this time. Or for any concern for the current recruiting class.
I would imagine that the parties will begin talking about the future sometime during the off-season.
