This is where our problem is. In my opinion we need to pick our best two or three cover guys, and let them play straight man. If that's Gallagher, or Crandall, or Hollis...fine. For God's sake, get rid of the idiotic zone coverage drops, cover 2 shells, and the other dumb zone coverage concepts because they're killing us! (especially on 3rd and long)
We have to bring our corners up on team's receivers and play press coverage. We can play a safety over the top if one of 'em gets beat deep, but we HAVE to get out of this zone because our kids can't execute it and Big 12 QBs are gonna dissect it because we drop too deep into our areas of coverage and then just allow guys to run free to open spots!
If we don't fix our scheme back there, and start coaching these kids up a different way, we might be lucky to win 3 games.
