As everyone knows, the Morgantown Marathon happened a few weeks ago, and brought over 1200 registered runners from 36 states and 6 countries for the inaugural event. The main goal was to not only showcase WV to people who had never been here (over 40% of our runners were from out of state), but also support something very near to my heart, our Veterans and Operation Welcome Home.
Tomorrow at 2PM, we will have our check presentation ceremony at the Operation Welcome Home facility, and will at that time announce the total amount raised to support our heroes through this great organization. I will wait until tomorrow to announce the amount, but I can tell you now that it is the single largest donation ever given to that great organization, and will help them continue to put our heroes back to work.
Thanks for putting up with my incessant rambling and promotion of the event...it was all worth it, and we are already planning for next year's event.
