So word comes down this week that Molly Hatchet founder and lead guitarist Dave Hlubek has passed away. So now there is only one surviving member of the hatchet wielding gal still living and sad to say he is in bad shape as well.
I know for you younger guys Molly Hatchet might be somewhat of a "joke" or just a novelty but back in the day (late 70s) when they were at their prime I would have stacked them up against any band in the world. I first saw them two weeks after the "Flirtin' With Disaster" album came out and it is, to this day, still my all-time best concert attended.
Rest in peace Dave. Thanks for the memories and the songs.
