We all agree Lyons nor Gee are going to run Huggins off. I also don't see Huggins voluntarily leaving on such a down note to his career (making the assumption that we don't go on some incredible NCAA run). I suspect he tells Lyons to give him one more year to right the ship and, if he doesn't, he will retire at the end of next year. My thinking is that, even though the team has tanked over the past month, he still looks at this team as one that could be special next year. So, I think he points to next year as his final hurrah. If he is right and we win big, it's a note he would like to go out on. If they tank again, he will honor his commitment to Lyons and retire.

Either way, I bet next year is his final year.
