Obviously as we all know know, Virginia Tech offensive line Doug Nester is in the transfer portal. I do expect West Virginia is going to be very involved here and based on what I had heard before this became official, I believe that the Mountaineers are the odds on favorite. This is something I had heard whispers about before and now he is in the portal looking for a new home. There is a lot of draw to Morgantown as some of his close friends are on the team and he visited around a dozen times in his first recruitment before picking Ohio State. Head coach Neal Brown made a late push with Nester in the 2019 class before he signed with Virginia Tech and now will have a second shot. I never want to say anything is a slam dunk because truthfully you just never know, but as Grant Traylor said last night the expectation is that West Virginia is going to be strong here. We'll see, but for now I do think it's a golden opportunity for the Mountaineers to address a need on the offensive line with a player that'll have three years of eligibility and is homegrown.
