The only way wvu wins tomorrow is if Tony Gibson's defense carries the day. If it weren't for the defense we would have lost against Byu, K State and Texas and we would be staring down the barrel of another 7-5 season. The offense was supposed to be the strength but has been a major disappointment considering all the starters back on that side of the ball. It has been pointed out by me and some of the more astute posters on here that the real reason were in contention for the big 12 title is due to the play of the defense.If Dana were to get another job offer and leave then hopefully Lyons would promote TG to HC. Unfortunately this scenario is unlikely most major programs are not going to hire a coach who has only had 1 good season in six years. LSU's top target is Jimbo which isn't surprising considering 3 of the last 4 national championships have been won by West Virginians. The pro Dana crowd has failed to this point to articulate an effective rebuttal to the claim That TG's defense is the real reason were in contention. They keep saying that Dana hired Gibson which may be true but Dan Hawkins hired Chris Petersen.
