--West Virginia had a lot of chances in this one but simply didn't get it done. The Mountaineers really struggled for a large stretch of this game on the offensive end especially in the second half and had to climb out of a hole to get back into it. The Mountaineers used a 12-2 run to tie the game at 56-all, but the Horned Frogs used a 9-4 run to close the game and get the win.

--Javon Small is doing everything he can do at this point. He had 20 points on 8-19 shooting despite receiving a ton of attention along with 7 assists. He played 37 minutes in this game and West Virginia was +7 when he was on the floor but simply wasn't good when he wasn't. I don't know what can be done at this point but he needs help in a consistent fashion and this team relies on him so much but he can't do it all.

--West Virginia did force 15 turnovers and turned that into 23 points. That helped them get going and in the come back attempt late although I do think the offense started to gel some late. Felt the Mountaineers' defense had TCU off-balance at first, but they were able to get some things going. The press simply didn't work in this one.

--When the offense was working it was really working though. West Virginia had some really good designs and Small made some excellent plays with the Mountaineers having 19 assists on 25 made baskets but those droughts and times that it isn't working looks really bad.

--Liked the effort from Eduardo Andre tonight with 10 points and 3 rebounds and a steal. He left the game with a scare but came back. West Virginia needs somebody to step up and Small was able to find him several times on finishes around the rim when he was commanding attention.

--Toby Okani continued to play his role with 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists, but there's no question coming up empty at the line late in the game hurt.

--TCU shot 23 free throws in this game and West Virginia shot 5 despite the Mountaineers making more baskets (25-21) and having more points in the paint (34-28). I felt like Small couldn't buy a call in this game when he was taking it to the rim.

--Rebounding has been an issue all year, but it really struck them in a key moment tonight not being able to corral the ball after a stop with a chance to tie the game. TCU was +8 overall.

--Not sure why but KJ Tenner seemed to be rattled a bit tonight and picked up his dribble several times. He played 12 minutes in this one. Not the best night either from Joe Yesufu, although he did hit score 11 points but was -11 overall.

--Amani Hansberry had 8 rebounds, but didn't score and only took 3 shots. Somebody has to put the ball in the basket.

--West Virginia needs Jonathan Powell to hit some shots. He was 1-9 in this one and 1-8 from three, although the one he made tied the game, but he's getting some good looks and they just didn't fall tonight. He has got to keep his confidence.

--West Virginia only played eight guys in this one and that's just tough as the minutes pile up.

--This is a tough one especially with a thin margin for error considering what's left on the schedule. The Mountaineers will head home for Utah and that's a game they have to find a way to win.
