to be tough for both of us to come by from here on out! Although I like WVU's chances much better than ours this coming weekend!
We fumbled the first play from scrimmage and were down 7-0 before you could sit down and it went downhill from there, I guess the only positive one can take from that debacle was that we fought back to make it 38-30 but couldn't corral the on side kick to get the ball back in the waning minutes of the game. Still couldn't help thinking we were a bit exposed. But even if we finish 7-5 this year that's significant improvement off a 3-9 season.I was a little surprised when I first noticed the Herd score on Saturday, down quickly 14-0, and then it was like 35 to 7. I watched them play Middle Tennessee on TV (only time I've seen them), and they actually looked pretty decent. I'm not sure how they could have laid an egg that big against the Panthers. Granted, FIU must be vastly improved, but they would never be confused with Bama.
so the shoe was on the other foot......your players were exposed when it's usually THEM doing the "exposing"......so you finally admit itWe fumbled the first play from scrimmage and were down 7-0 before you could sit down and it went downhill from there, I guess the only positive one can take from that debacle was that we fought back to make it 38-30 but couldn't corral the on side kick to get the ball back in the waning minutes of the game. After the WVU game was over I went to facebook stadium and checked on the Herd. Not only was I surprised at the 35-7 score, the thing that struck me most was how empty the Joan was. I swear by that point the players and the band out numbered the fans in the stands. Seems that not only is Marshall not taking over the state, they can't even take over their own stadium.
I was also surprised with the facebook live stream of the game. Semi professional at best, but better than expected. Kind of nice to watch a game without TV timeouts. My biggest bitch about it was that it cut out several times and had to be refreshed. I suppose in time they will get the bugs worked out but live network TV is better.
Hahahahhaha, couldn't help notice that 50 yard line seats were plentiful in the 3rd quarter of your boys debacle. I came across the game on Facebook, sometime during the 2nd half when it was already out of hand. I'm not sure how it showed up on my FB wall, but likely due to Sistersville watching it, or liking the page. Anyhow, it wasn't too bad at all, and a much better way of following a game, if it's not on TV. However, I would never watch an entire game on my phone, but I could have hooked it up to the smart TV and probably watched it through it, all dependent on the high tech wife getting it setup to work. The thing I found interesting was watching all the comments taking place as the game was on. It was like a smack board between fans, and I even saw a few WVU fans making comments. That was actually better than the game itself, although I'm guessing those would be annoying if they were on the 65" TV screen.I was also surprised with the facebook live stream of the game. Yeah, that was likely the biggest 'leave early' crowd in WVU history. I actually thought the cousins were going to make a late run, and make those that left early feel like a bunch of dorks. Weather didn't appear to be a great day for sitting outdoors. Was it raining throughout the Herd game as well?Hahahahhaha, couldn't help notice that 50 yard line seats were plentiful in the 3rd quarter of your boys debacle. Pot calling the kettle black!
Cold and rainy in both Morgantown and Huntington! I actually bet on WVU + 7 1/2 thinking that the Cowboys don't play any defense either and two scores was too much to give the Mounties at home. Game wasn't as close as the score though, WVU got lucky on a punt block and a pick 6 and scored in the waning seconds to get beat by the final margin.Yeah, that was likely the biggest 'leave early' crowd in WVU history. I thought Grier really struggled on Saturday as well and the Cowboy defense is not to be confused with 'bama! I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as the Cousins are worried about this guy bolting to the NFL, I don't think they need to sweat that happening! Tough conditions to throw the ball though.I saw a good chunk of the Cyclones game on Saturday. They have a decent football team, and a receiver who may give WVU fits, as he's a pretty talented guy that appears to stand about 6'6", maybe even taller. Like you, I think the cousins win this one, but if it's another bad weather day, that would appear to benefit the 'Clones. That movie star QB for the cousins seemed to me like he thought he was playing against Kansas, Delaware State, or one other stiffs WVU has beaten this season. You can't just sling the ball up the air and hope when you're playing against decent competition.

Yawn...our house is emptier than yours! Hahahahahahhaa....have any pregnant thoughts on WVU's performance on the field?Marshall claimed over 19,000 in attendance ( in a 35,000 seat stadium )..........Chuck Landon says that only about 12,000 were there. The replay is still available on facebook, if you aren't too embarrassed to check it out, and clearly shows that even Landon may have been generous in his estimate of the crowd size for the start of the game. And if you shift to the 3rd quarter you will see that I was correct in saying that the teams on the sidelines outnumbered the fans in the stands.
Meanwhile we had an actual attendance of over 57,000 before the game got out of hand. Video replay will confirm that too.
As for myself, I wasn't there, but if I had been I would have been in my seat til the bitter end. In the one hundred-plus WVU games I've attended at Mountaineer Field, I have never left before the game clock has expired.

I was surprised by the game...didn't think WVU-OSU was the mismatch it turned out to be. But I'm not ready to give up on the Mounties, like 'em against the Cyclones Saturday! Clearly Grier has to play better than he did last Saturday though! We got beat by a team that was clearly better. No reason to deny the obvious, and WVU is still my team. No "what if's", no "if only's", no "yeah but" excuses like the Herdiots use when explaining away their losses to us.
