Smoke and Mirrors my friends

Nobody is allowed to use the toughness of the Big12 as a measuring stick for WVU basketball anymore.

Didn't our conference do the same last year?
We keep folding like chairs in 1st and 2nd round games... I think it could affect future selections.
Based on the criteria that maybe our conference wasn't that strong, then Texas didn't deserve their tournament bid that they got.

LOL - yes because a sample size of 3 versus the entire season is a much more reliable measurement. GTFO.

After watching these games, I hope and pray WVU is not part of the first round folding chairs.

too early to tell. maybe the 5th place team will win the title this year... sort of like the 9th place big east team (UCONN) won it the year that conference sent 11 to the tournament.

you can go by history..hasn't been an elite 8 team in the B12 in several years..last yr Stanford beat Kansas then Dayton beats Stanford by 10...two teams did make it to the round of 16..Baylor and Iowa St..both got knocked off..the year before the B12 didn't have a team make to the sweet 16

the RPI is the false God..no matter how many times we see schools like Butler, George Mason, VCU, Bradley etc make it to the final four..

The Big 12 chokes more in the NCAA tournament than Bob Huggins' Cincy teams did. The Big 12 isn't as powerful as people on here says it is. So you GTFO.

Are you suggesting that people "on here" affected the pairings of the teams selected? That is weak, very weak as a measurement of what the B12 Conference is.

Is ridiculous
September 6, 2014 - Final Score: Virginia Tech - 35, Ohio State - 21

B12 BB and SEC football = inter-conference mega blood bath battles to the very end.

And incestuous too.

I was thinking it might be the opposite. Maybe we've beat each other so much during the conference games that we're worn down now. And, that's the guys that aren't injured.

UNC had to pull one out against Harvard.

All 3 big 12 losses could have gone either way.

The media gets into this conference dialogue way too much. Gives them something to talk about.

Let's look at the record

The Big 12 non-conference record is 50% more victories PER SCHOOL than the SEC.

That's not chopped liver.

Judging by one day of NCAA flops is foolhardy. It's like determining whether a cancer drug works by giving it to one rat and extrapolating that into the same research as 2 million patients.

Let's see what happens today with WVU and its 3 other brethren.

Kneejerk reactions are what we do "best."

If WVU and a Big 12 team play for the national title, will that then make the Big 12 the best conference in America, as it was indeed this season, based on the rankings?

Toughness? Teams won at the foul line in this league...that doesn't win

tourneys...teams conditioned to play win.

Re: Teams win and loss at the foul line in every league.

MountainBillMan........................the Big 12 or the Big East or the Southern Conference. What difference does it make unless you are paying the bills with gold................like Kentucky seems to be. WV ain't gonna have a bigger, better team just because they change conference affiliation every 25 years or so. Same players available to every team............unless you are Kentucky. It's all OK. Well.............not really. The NCAA needs to pull the plug on KY!
