He better pass it in year 1, considering he has 60 wins at WVU already. I expect no less than 7 wins. Prefer more.

Both had 61 wins, but Holgorsen had an extra season and more games per season. Holgorsen averaged 7.6 wins per season during his time here and Rodriguez averaged 8.7.

It took RR 4 seasons to build the program up to its peak under him. Holgorsen peaked in his first year before treading water and never getting back there again.

So I'm willing to give RR some time, but unless he is getting into the conference championship game and being competitive by year 4 or 5, he should be washed here.

With the transfer portal it should be much faster than 4-5 years. Year two should be very successful.

Rod does not have 61 wins.

Holgorsen had 61 - 41
ROD 60 - 26

Rod needs to win 7 year 1 and beat Pitt or feel heat.

why? every bowl game except the playoffs is meaningless...I read that on here..getting to 6 wins with a team full of mercenaries and no offensive line with take a minor miracle

I think RR deserves much of the credit for how the team he built performed in the Fiesta Bowl as we can see what Stewart did when he had to do more than just rally the troops into doing what they were trained to do under RR.

Regardless, my point is Holgorsen's ceiling was being close to the conference championship game but never making it nor having a team, save 2018, that had a reasonable shot at winning that game even had WVU made it. So that is the ceiling I believe RR needs to break by year 4 or 5. Be in the championship game and at the very least be competitive.

Fiesta Bowl can not be considered a Rod win as he was not there to be head coach. Granted the players on the team he built could probably won the game without any coach. Holgorsen could never beat Oklahoma which was the direct reason he couldn't win the Big 12. I consider Holgorsen as an average coach at best. Above Brown but below Rod.

I believe Rod can win the Big 12 title although I thought Holgs could as well and he failed. Rod should be winning the Big 12 by year 3. See his one great season in PAC 12 was year 3 I believe. So it's 6 or 7 wins his first year or it's the hot seat in my opinion. After all even Brown went 6-6 in Big 12.
