Shortly after Neal was hired, his right-hand man, Coleman Barnes, and Dale Wolfley came down to Charlotte. Wolfley invited me to dinner with him and Coleman to help raise money for the new staff. I appreciated the invitation and was excited to meet the new staff.

During the dinner, Coleman introduced himself as “Neal’s best friend” and then said something I’ll never forget: “Enjoy Neal while you can, because he’ll be coaching in the SEC soon.” That comment completely rubbed me the wrong way. The dinner was supposed to be about supporting the new staff, yet here he was, talking about Neal leaving just two months into the job.

The truth is, Neal and his crew have always acted like they’re above WVU. Even after six years of getting his shit pushed in Neal consistently blames West Virginia and WVU for his failures on the field.

This program doesn’t need someone like that. We need a coach who feels privileged to represent and lead WVU—a coach who’s proud to be here. Adios Neal and Fat Coleman time to head back to the Mecca of college football- Kentucky.
