I know that is incorrect because Texas went through a period that they couldn't generate any offense.
Finally they found an offense and the D went to total shit in 2016.

Texas' struggles were because of offense.

TCU went through this in 2018
WV could go through this as well.

Bad QB play and a great defense gets you 6-6.

You are not totally shutting down the top offenses all game.
Even Alabama couldn't shut down Oklahoma. You can slow them down for one half but Lincoln Riley adjusted.
