NBA sucks. Who do you know that has even watched that trash the last 20 years? Not many! NBA losing ratings badly and it’s getting worse. It’s going to get deathly the next couple years. NBA All Star game was all time low ratings and needs to go away. Nobody cares. ESPN paid a lot of money and is losing badly on this investment.

Lethug James political anti Trump rhetoric and his anti police, anti American rhetoric is only turning normal suburban America away and turning them off. Lethug James as the face of NBA is bad for NBA thug league. NBA has a bad future. Nobody gets excited about guys who never played but 1 or no year in college. That model destroys the marketing and interest. America isn’t interested in spoiled 1 and done tattooed uneducated bozos being overpaid in NBA. It tarnishes the respect of the sport and the interest. Basketball fans want to see these guys in college for 3-4 years first like the old days. NBA is going downhill fast now and it’s been going downhill for last 20 years since MJ retired. Social media, spoiled bad attitude players, 1 and done, no maturity, bad basketball, not enough college marketing before NBA has destroyed NBA product. Next TV deals will be lower and player salaries will eventually decline. NBA is going to fall badly.

Only fix is to make college basketball better by having players stay 3 years like football, baseball model. This will help NBA. Only way to market the players to the masses is by having them in college for a couple years before NBA. Most people just don’t follow players that never went to college or only went 1 and done because you don’t remember them or get to know them. The NBA needs a strong NCAA to market interest and develop their future. That’s how it was years ago and that worked better. MJ played 3 years at UNC. Get back to that model. NBA must work with NCAA. If they don’t nobody will be watching in 5-10 years. The revenue will decrease badly.

Most basketball folks see this and agree. Major problems coming for NBA. It’s going to get dark and ugly folks. NBA TV ratings declining badly. Attendance down too. NBA sucks. Most agree. What grown man with a job watches or follows NBA? Not many.
 
NBA sucks and the political nature of the players make it difficult to follow. They shroud play basketball cut the political crap in half then maybe ratings will go up.

I get your point but there are a lot of grown adults who watch it, especially ones who went to or go to a school that produces a lot of pros. I would imagine if you went to Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, etc., it would be fun to watch players who went to your school play. If WVU had more players in the NBA, I would buy the league package and try to watch them as much as I could but as it is now, Jevon is our only player in the league and he just doesn't play very much.
 
Actually most UNC TarHeel fans in NC hate pro sports. When you get to the upstate of NC it’s all college fans and anti pro. UNC folks hate pro. Especially the native NC folks that are UNC fans. Kentucky is same way. Many of them hate the 1 and done thing and many say they barely remember the brainless bozo thugs once they leave Kentucky. They only care about UK Wildcats and the state of Kentucky. They don’t give a shit once you leave Kentucky.
 
Grown adults watching NBA probably aren’t over 25 and probably don’t work. NBA has lost popularity for sure. It’s been bad last 20 years.

That and also the players aren’t in college long enough to market or get to know. People just dont get excited about a bunch of spoiled brats making big money to play bad basketball. Now the same is happening in college with all the rule changes. The guard is allowed to touch a defender as they go to the basket and the foul is called on the defense. College players throw up constant 3's. Basketball at both levels have been ruined.

Oh I agree. That’s why I honestly don’t follow college basketball anymore. Yesterday was the first WVU game I’ve watched all year.
 
I think it is a lot more efficient.

The introduction of European players and coaches is the main reason.
NBA is becoming more international and the international game has a much larger paint.

The movement and spacing has improved dramatically because you have more guys that can shoot and pass.

Still a lot of one on one but overall basketball has became much more of a team game.

The way that the Golden St Warriors move the ball is a thing of beauty.
A lot of the time their big is Draymond Green.
Probably the most undervalued player in the NBA.

the only thing that keeps men's basketball competitive is the one and done..that's why a Loyola-Chicago, Butler, George Mason and yes, WVU can make a final four...your way Kentucky and Duke are there every year..in fact I'd like to see a one and done in football.

2018 - The NCAA mens’ basketball championship game between Michigan and Villanova saw significant declines in the ratings compared to 2017.

Airing on TBS, TNT, and truTV, the game averaged 16.5 million viewers, down approximately 28% from 2017’s 23 million when the game aired on CBS. In addition, this year’s game pulled in a 10.3 rating in Nielsen metered market households, the lowest such rating ever recorded for a college basketball national championship game.

As expected, the various NBA All-Star weekend festivities had a dominant presence over the cable ratings for the week of Feb. 11.

TNT’s broadcast of the “NBA All-Star Game” Sunday night scored the week’s no. 1 spot in both adults 18-49 (2.4) and in total viewers (5.77 million), while the network’s broadcast of the “NBA All-Star Saturday Night” event came second in both measures (2.2, 5.02 million) as well.

TNT grabbed five other spots in the 18-49 top 25 with its additional All-Star weekend coverage and its regular season NBA broadcasts throughout the week. Meanwhile, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” came third in the adults 18-49 demo with a 1.7 – down from its previous 2.0 – and in total viewers with 4.54 million.

Being down 26% doesn't stop it from being top rated show.
