Spoke with Chris Peak from Pantherlair.com, our Pittsburgh affiliate, and he told me that he has had conversations with former Maryland wide receiver Juwann Winfree about where his next college destination will be. While at Maryland, Winfree was suspended indefinitely which led to his decision to leave the program. Winfree has told Peak that his list of schools includes Pittsburgh, West Virginia, N.C. State, Colorado State and Utah but right now the only visit he has scheduled is to Pitt July 20 and currently has no other visits set. I'm not sure if there is interest on the West Virginia side, just a name to pocket away in case something would unfold in the coming weeks. West Virginia recruited Winfree, a former four-star prospect from New Jersey, out of high school and he visited campus so there is some history there. However, at this stage, Peak believes that Pittsburgh is in the driver's seat.
