Well, #1 Alabama and #3 Clemson proved that they belong in the national playoffs and #2 Notre Dame is revealed as an imposter.

So that mean Ohio State, which looked pretty average against Northwestern, and Texas A&M will be the other teams in the national playoffs and Oklahoma is bypassed?

Oklahoma took down #6 Iowa State, but not by much.

In a pandemic year it’s about the best we can hope for.

So what’s new?

Going undefeated means little for Cincinnati. Another reason to be glad WVU didn’t get stuck with the American Athletic Conference.

If Alabama and Clemson aren’t paired in the semifinals then the semifinals could be mismatches.

The committee is probably afraid of what will happen if they lock out all 3 of the Big Ten, BIG 12 and Pac 12.

So they will put Ohio State in even though they do NOT have a resume as good as OU. They'll use the 2 losses as an excuse even though OU has MORE wins, MORE wins against ranked opponents and their opponents have won MORE.

Also, OU's conference is tougher and ranked higher .

But ESPN wants every year 2ACC and 2SEC teams and would do this every year if they could because they want to promote those conferences since they own their networks and the more success those conferences have the more money that pumps into Disney.

But can't get away with that and they know it, so the money maker (for network) tOSU will get the nod, ignoring actual on field results, while keeping enough of a majority of P5 conferences that a rebellion can't happen.

Cincinnati has a case as well but no way will they allow that.

Alabama and Clemson will not be paired against each other.

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Ohio State or Texas A&M
4. Ohio State or Notre Dame.

I guess playing only 6 games gets you in according to shit head committee. Maybe everybody should play 6 and we could have a 16 team playoff then.

I would be even more surprised, if the CFP Committee were to rank Notre Dame No. 3, as nobody wants to see a third match-up between Clemson and Notre Dame, except the Tigers.

Who would win between Ohio State vs Cincinnati?

Figure that out the tell me who should get that spot.
Who would win between OU and tOSU is what matters for WVU. But well never know.

since Indiana and Northwestern both gave the Buckeyes a game its pretty obvious Cincinnati could win that game.

^^^ Delusional Dana Holgorsen apologist, who didn't see what happened to the Bearcats the last time that they played Ohio State. The ESPiN crew said this afternoon that Las Vegas bookmakers would make Ohio State a 20 point favorite over our little brother.

Notre Dame loses by 24 points and is named within days to the College Football Playoffs.

Texas A&M's only loss came in its 2nd game against #1 Alabama and the Aggies get left out. It's a puzzlement.

Both semifinals could be blowouts.

Maybe we need a revamped selection committee.

ESPN just flat out said it out loud that committee is telling G5 you're not welcome in playoffs. You're not power 5 you will never be in.

The fellow who heads the CFC organization was on TV after selection - he's barely articulate. I mean he was having trouble explaining anything. Pure and simple there should be 8 teams. First, who really believes that the playoffs should be limited to teams east of the Mississippi? Makes no sense at all. Further who believes that not all P-5 conferences shouldn't be included. And closing out Cincinnati? This committee IMHO has its collective heads
securely locked deep in their pelvic cavities.
