Plenty of disrespect to go around in West Virginia-Lumberjacks matchup
By Allan Taylor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — During the 48 hours since Stephen F. Austin surfaced as the first-round opponent, West Virginia has heard about the Lumberjacks’ extensive winning streak and their upset potential.

“You’re gonna hear it regardless,” said guard Tarik Phillips. “We just have to use it as motivation.”

The media members projecting West Virginia into the Elite Eight deserve equal time, but the Mountaineers have a blind-spot for flattery. They’ve ridden the disrespect wave—some of it actual, some contrived—to a No. 3 seed, the program’s second-highest since the NCAA began designating seeds.

Every team not named Kansas or Mich St is dealing with this. I heard on TV yesterday Fla Gulf Coast had what it takes to be the first 16 over a 1 (Carolina).

Have read or seen on TV Stony Brook will upset UK, Chatt will upset Indiana, S Dak St will top MD, Hawaii over Cal, Wich St to Sweet 16, Carolina won't make it out of first weekend, etc.

Then you also see the exact opposite.

Have seen ESPN project WVU as an 89% chance to beat SFA. Today they say SFA has a 44% chance to score the upset. So which is it? How are these numbers conjured up in 1st place?

The projectors basically say everyone's dangerous. Then they either go chalk or pick enough upsets to where eventually one of them connects.
