But let’s pretend for one moment that it’s about something else……great…so then what is that ‘something else’ about, and more importantly, what is the plan to get both the Senate and the POTUS to go along with that ’something else’……

And ugh, I know there will be about 100000000000000000000000000000 idiotic links to social media —which btw, if you’re using social media…..for anything…then it says a lot about your intelligence….and not in a good way—.

Now, I”m not saying how good or bad that ‘something else’ is, but ummmmmmmmm there’s a messaging problem there…and mainly, it’s because the Gaetz wing of the party hasn’t done a good job of defining what this shutdown is about…..

Okay, great....so let's assume the gov't shuts down to-morrow....then what? What's the pathway to get a fully qualified budget? How do you get the Senate and POTUS to go along with any spending cuts? What's the plan there?

And it seems to me like this shutdown is a bit of a self inflicted wound....these spending bills should have been taken care of MONTHS ago..... It's just another example of the Congress doing NOTHING and then acting surprised when the gov't shuts down.

Oh and don't anyone get your hopes up for an extended shutdown....this thing will last until staffing levels force the first major airport to shutdown....and then it's all over. Don't believe me....ask Trump

In a dream world and politicians wasn't slimming lawyers looking towards the next election and voters paid more attention to physical responsibility, socialism hadn't creeped into our system....
They would actually debate what is truly best for our country and what has to be done . If voters paid attention and held the likes of Chuck and mitch to the fire the senate would be happy to do line item budget. No side except for 21 Republicans want to hold all government accountable. I don't have a clue on how to get them moving towards physical responsibility.
Totally agree that the budget should be worked on long before now . No excuses should be excepted.
A balanced budget should be constitutional. The guy who is demanding line item is also calling for a vote on this .

I wonder why we never see anyone in DC campaigning for lowering the federal tax? To do so, it would require downsizing the government. I bring this up because, if for the right reasons, I think a government shutdown is what we need. However, my stance has nothing to do currently with why a shutdown is even considered. I think we should shut it down until the endless and unnecessary funding of Ukraine stops. There is no reason to continue when Americans are struggling and paying nearly 1/3 of their paycheck in taxes. I don’t know why Americans aren’t protesting now over this nonsense

So the People’s house should just kneel down because the senate wants to print and spend ? I don't get the attitude of just go along with the norm because it's easy . Sooner or later the fight has to be fought . Something has to happen to fix the spending. Line item is the first step to getting things in check and make the spending more transparent so voters know who supports what . Not standing up to the president and senate is like taking your 4 year old shopping and buying them candy or toys you can't afford because you don't want to hear them scream and cry .....yes a government shutdown is bullshit!
