Looks like Big 12 will have to have an unbeaten team to make the playoffs

If Oklahoma wins out, its SOS will be excellent with wins over OK State, Baylor and Texas Christian as well as a victory over a Tennessee team that appears likely to finish 8-4. Not many one-loss teams will look any better.

And if either Baylor or OK State are 12-0, they will be in the playoffs -- or the whole damn system will collapse under the weight of the outrage.

who are these people? WVU is STILL rated 28th in ESPN's FPI ratings judging all teams and Texas Tech is still 37th ahead of such programs as ND's Temple and Penn State which is Ohio State's claim to fame. WVU is rated ahead of IOWA.

Sounds like you personally have a problem with WVU and Tech--don't pretend that spreads to the rest of the college football world which thinks the BIG 12 is excellent.

Oklahoma, Baylor and TCU are 1,2 and 3 in those rankings which are far more accurate than some biased committee whose mission seems to be to exclude the BIG 12 at all costs.

The committees rankings are not a realistic reflection of schedule strength or power.

"You personally have a problem with" the Defending National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Who cares about ESPN's FPI ratings, whatever the hell they are? The A.P., coaches, and ESPN's power ratings (for what they're worth) all agree with the CFB Playoff Committee that Ohio State is deserving of a Top 3 ranking. Let me guess: You were one of dozens of WVU fans who cried about Ohio State's inclusion in last year's playoffs. LOL!

Do away with conference championships and put 8 teams in the playoffs. Many people tried to tell them that 4 teams weren't enough and the VERY FIRST year of this shenanigan proved that to be true.

Ohio State who has played no one getting credit for what they might do down the road.
You'll love this: Yesterday I heard on a SiriusXM college football show that, by the end of this weekend, only one team in the current AP top 25 will have NOT played any other teams currently in the AP top 25...and of course it's Ohio St. They're being given a complete free pass in the SOS debate because they won last year. That much is certain, and it's total BS.
Oklahoma State with the best win of anyone out there--but behind three one loss teams?
That part is completely reasonable at this point. Oklahoma St might have a better single win than the 3 one-loss teams ahead of them, but that's the only good Cowboys win at all. Their next best is over us or Texas Tech, a pair of .500 teams. Alabama, ND, and Stanford all can go at least 3 deep with victories over teams that are 6-3 or better. I can understand how someone might find the greater volume of wins over stronger teams compelling enough to outweigh their losses, and thus outrank an unbeaten team without multiple wins over teams that good.
Iowa ahead of ANY BIG 12 teams? ridiculous.
Not really, this is the same issue as the previous one. Iowa has beaten the committee's #18 and #25 teams, both on the road. They also show another nice win over 6-3 Pitt. As mentioned above, Oklahoma St won at home against the committee's #15 team--but has done nothing else. Baylor doesn't have any victories over an FBS team with a winning record yet.
Iowa would get smoked by half the BIG 12.
This is mere speculation and has no business in the conversation.
Notre Dame? What happened to having to be a conference champion?
If you noticed from last year, they don't apply the conference-championship "bonus" until the end when it's actually won.
This committee is corrupt
No doubt, last year provided plenty of evidence. What I'm pointing out, though, is that most of what you're complaining about so far can be explained perfectly well on a rational basis.

Don't worry, though. This whole thing stinks to high heaven, and their next shady move is right around the corner.

Don't make guarantees buddy you lose any credibility that you think you have! Remember last year? If there is a 12-0 team in the Big 12 I would think they get in this year. I doubt a one loss loss Big12 team gets in. Just like a one loss ACC team probably doesn't get. The ACC and the Big12 are the weak sisters. Embraced buddy.

IMO, OSU should still be on probation and ineligible for post season play. The selling of Buckeyes memorabilia had probably been an illegal source of revenue for Ohio State players for decades. The slap on the wrist barely affected the football program. The lesson here is that cheating can really help your program long term.
