With McNeil and Sherman it looks like we’ve got a couple of guys with the potential to score and the desire to score. Both Haley and McCabe came on late in the season and I expect they will both work hard on their offense in the off season.

Maybe we won’t have to hear “we can’t make a shot” too often next season.

Our guards should not get tired with talented subs available. Just hope McNeil and Sherman adjust better to Huggs' quick benchings than McCabe, Haley and Knapper.

If McCabe, Haley and Knapper had opened their ears and listened they would not have gotten pulled.

They need to work on their Defense.....

WV allows space, movement with the ball and without the ball and passing lanes.

All these players at this level can score and shoot.
Just can't let them.

West Virginia according to KenPom was 135th in adjusted defense

71st on offense.

Oregon was a Sweet 16 team with a lower offense.
At 74th but had a Top 15 Defense.

Iowa was the only team in the Round of 32 with a defense in the 100s.
But they had an offense at 15.

More than half of the Big 12 had a top 30 defense.

In Basketball the Big 12 is the toughest defensive conference.

Shouldn't you be worried about Texas and who they will hire at the end of next season.

2 Big 12 teams in the top 50 defensive teams. I think your stats are a tad off. Did you really think nobody would check up on your lies.

#3 Texas Tech
#4 Kansas State
#52 Texas
#70 Baylor
#83 Iowa State
#84 Oklahoma
#126 TCU
#143 Kansas
#180 Oklahoma State
#311 WVU

This 1st year was fun for McCabe I bet. The feller has some talent......he just needed to get adjusted to college level play and not HS. He'll quit playin "thinkin" and start gettin "instinctive". Him and Culver gonna have some oh schitt plays that we're gonna say wow on.

Going off of adjusted stats on KenPom.

Don't know where those numbers are from.

But they prove my point regarding WV as well

Shaka Smart has place his career on Courtney Ramey and Matt Coleman.
Plus on the return of Andrew Jones.

Smart thinks Ramey and Coleman are elite guards
We will see.

I will wait until next year. Shaka Smart hasn't proved capable of winning in this conference so I have doubt.
Don't think Hepa and Liddell improve
Williams doesn't see much court time
Kai Jones isn't Jaxson Hayes
Andrew Jones isn't ready to go.

On the other hand.
Texas has the ability to finally play anyway.
Liddell begins to become the player some saw in HS.
Coleman and Ramey are elite
Febres becomes a scorer
Kai Jones is who many say and that is Jaxson Hayes with a shot.

We will see in MSG next November when Texas plays in that 4 team tournament.

What is saving Shaka is his relationship with Greg Brown and his AAU and HS coach.

Greg Brown is a 20-5-5 guy as a freshman and possible Top 3 draft pick.
He is a 2020 recruit.

I will leave this for WV.
The JUCO you brought in that went to school at FB Marshall...

Many think he could be a starter in the Big 12 and at the very least a 15-20 player on a NCAA Tournament team.

Defensive efficiency?

What category.
Sounds like raw data

KenPom may not be the best finished product but it is one of the better.

Say everyone in your conference averages 78-90 points a game.
You usually hold them to 70-80.
Some data would say your D sucks because you are giving up 75 ppg.
While others would say you are holding your opponents far beneath their average.

KenPom's adjusted defensive efficiency is usually one of the best.

Both have WV last and far below the rest of the conference.

If anything.
More defense instead of more scoring is needed for West Virginia.

NCAA is not raw data. It's stats period. Computer shit can make something look like shiny and full of color but it's only shit brown.
