Anyone excited over beating 4-6 UCF is apart of the problem. Whenever you are an underdog at home in Morgantown against a 4-6 team, you’ve got major problems. They won. Good. They should win. It should be expected.
Exactly. Beating a team like UCF should be expected, a no-brainer. The crowd was telling. This program is sunk under Neil Brown. It's not that people want to lose, it's that a lot of people don't care at this point either way, and that's a problem.

I cheer for WVU. They lose often because we are not competitive. We are slow with speed and football IQ. The players are rarely improved or coached up. There is a serious problem with this team lack of talent and lack of good coaching.
Exactly. A huge problem. How many players have went NFL in Browns 6 years? I can think of 4. I’m sure there’s a couple more. Then compare how many Nehlen, Rodriguez and Holgorsen put into the NFL. It’s not even close.

My loyalty is with WVU, not Brown. I hardly watch any other teams these days. I just want to see WVU return to being a consistent top 25 team. There is absolutely no reason we can't do that. We don't even need a great coach to do that, just a good one. I would love to have a great coach but would be content with just a good solid coach who had us in the b12 title hunt regularly.
Now that Oklahoma and Texas are gone, there’s no reason WVU cannot contend for the B12 championship. Looking across the league, we should be consistently in the top 4 most every year.
Yep i feel the exact same way. No reason we shouldn't be in the top 3-4 every year. We have a winning tradition.
I wholeheartedly believe that football could lead to fixing most of the problems with the university and the money issues. I would go all in on the football program, because it is legit the best marketing for your school hands down and it's not even close. It's not just a coincidence that the best years of attendance are when we were best at football. Football makes more money than anything, but it also lures in students and even makes the local economy boom more. Football can drive a university and it absolutely should with us.
When I look at the B12, I always look at Kansas State as the most comparable program to WVU. I often followed the B12 and Kansas State prior to WVU ever joining the league. Kansas State has the same limitations as WVU with small population and limited number of instate D1 talent to recruit. They’ve always got it done. No matter who was in the B12…Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Colorado. They always win and contend for the league championship. The WV fanbase has always had a divide between it. There’s those who think smalltime and WV is inferior and can’t compete on any level nationally. Then there’s those who see the reality and potential. Neal Brown represents the half who think inferior and smalltime. These are the same people who felt we should’ve stayed in the Big East, kept Bill Stewart, continued to play Marshall, stuck with WV Radio instead of Leerfield IMG, hated Oliver Luck, etc. These people probably were against the construction of Mountaineer Field in 1979. I pay no attention to their nonsense and defeatist attitude. WVU is better than them.

When WVU gets a new coach, he will be a really good one and most of us will forget all about Brown. Will you?

Gva has come unglued, sadly mostly because of me. I was completely done with brown after year four and pretty much predicted this scenario we're in now. Gva was threatening me back then because of it. He wanted so badly to get me banned because I didn't think Neil Brown was a good coach. He wanted to either beat me up or get me banned. Somehow stating my opinion on the rivals message board was going to damage the program. It wasn't a very popular opinion back then, but now the worries the few of us had are playing out. Brown has overstayed and now there's Billboards and toilet paper with his face on it. It should have never come to that and gva is very angry that it did, only because I was more right than he wants to admit. I don't believe he likes Neil Brown that much, he just hates me because I was one of the early climb deniers.

I wouldn’t worry about it. So what if someone doesn’t agree Neal Brown needs replaced. Fact is, he does need replaced. I’m sure he knows it as well. Why else is he complaining the schedule is too hard and we shouldn’t play Penn State anymore? That’s not what a winner does. You want to play the best. He just wants to pad his schedule and thump his chest for beating a bunch of scrubs.
Yeah I totally agree. Brown has made more excuses than I have ever heard a coach make on any level. I think my peewee football coach was a tougher coach than brown. He's definitely a nice guy though and I wish we would have had the foresight 3 years ago to maybe give him an Administration position or something. WVU seems to love this dude and a lot of fans put him on and off the hot seat so often it's like an abusive relationship. I have literally never seen anything like this lol. One week people are wiping their butts with Neil Brown toilet paper and the next week after he wins against another loser team, people are speculating well maybe one more year. Maybe he's not on the hot seat now...... then he loses another game and he's the biggest piece of crap in the world and they buy Billboards and pick on his children and stuff like that then he wins another game and it's oh maybe he's not so bad, maybe another year or game. We’ve all given him way more time than he deserved. That said, he slapped us in the face when he took our patience for granted with his comments “I get they want to win, but Did they have a good time?”. I mean, wow! Absolutely not, nobody has had a good time watching this shit show. Apparently he thought this was a gravy job without expectations. And obviously had no urgency to win here. Add in the whining about Penn State and wanting an easier schedule, that ultimately sealed his fate with this fan base.
It's what every P4 school does. Play a bunch of scrubs to get a 3-0 start. Have seen the Indiana OOC schedule? PSU and the Alabama's want to play us because they believe us to be easy marks.
Since we no longer have marquee teams like Oklahoma and Texas on our schedule, we NEED to play teams like Penn State. Nehlen played Miami, Penn State as independent with Syracuse, BC, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Pitt etc. He realized he had to play a tough schedule for the polls. And while the B12 is solid, it really doesn’t have that marquee matchup or blueblood.
I remember Rich Rod wanting to play the best teams we can possibly play because he had high expectations for his team and himself. That kind of mindset should be commonplace for football on this level. Brown is like the anti-alpha coach on the other hand.
