So we're dumping on a dude for taking a bigger paycheck? I mean.........really......I think that's something everyone would do.
No excuse for losing to Colorado in tournament unless maybe your heart (and head) are somewhere else.So we're dumping on a dude for taking a bigger paycheck? I mean.........really......I think that's something everyone would do.
Would they interview mid season. This is more on Indiana than DeVries. So we're dumping on a dude for taking a bigger paycheck? I mean.........really......I think that's something everyone would do.
I don't doubt his surgery was for real. Being told he had a medical redshirt might be an Indiana thing. He will not be denied.Nope. It's not about the upgrade, it's about being sneaky about it and setting up the deal behind our backs during a season where we were paying him 3 mil to focus on WVU basketball. IU tampered and he took part. He lied. His son may have taken advantage of us as well with his probably fake shoulder injury becsuse they knew he was leaving for Indiana way back in the 1st quarter of the season. He wants that year of eligibility AND his NIL money. He wants his cake and eat it too. I hope the NCAA denies him and Devries fails at IU as a coach. He deserves it for being so dishonest.
This is the part that bothers me, I could care less that our year 1 head coach bailed, that’s the nature of the sport now. He 100% is trying to get Tucker to double dip his NIL money, and now that becomes a question of fraud. I don’t get too in the weeds with the NIL money, but if someone paid him a great deal of money to play for WVU and represent a brand and he faked an injury for another year of eligibility and another pay day at a new school then it’s possible a term like securities fraud could be thrown around, and how long before other players copy this move if it’s not punished?Nope. It might very well be true, but let’s just move on. Darian was dishonest with Wren and WVU. Let him go. If he wins, so be it. If he loses and gets fired, I could care less. At least he left now instead of 5-7 years down the road with WVU preparing for the Final FourThis is the part that bothers me, I could care less that our year 1 head coach bailed, that’s the nature of the sport now. I’m gonna let it go, but whoever cut the NIL check for Tucker might not…It might very well be true, but let’s just move on. Darian was dishonest with Wren and WVU. Let him go. If he wins, so be it. There’s a right way to do things like this and there’s a wrong way. Think of John Beilein when he left for Michigan versus RR when he did the same thing. This is a perfect example of the wrong way. There can be no doubt that Indiana tampered, which even in this day and age is supposed to be frowned upon. There’s also zero doubt that DeVries was lying from the instant he decided to take their first phone call. It’s dishonest and disgusting, but who or what is going to do anything about it? The NCAA no longer has any real power to punish programs or coaches for such behavior and everyone knows it. NC State has reportedly already hired Wade away from McNeese State during their March Madness run but it’s just a wink and nod agreement so keep it under your hat until it’s magically announced the same day McNeese loses. Integrity is not much of a player in big time sports these days if it ever really was. Consider all of the coaches with teams currently in the tournament who have been caught doing things that got them fired and left programs a mess. Kelvin’s Sampson, John Calipari, Rick Pitino, Sean Miller, Will Wade, the list goes on and on and no one cares as long as their current team is winning. This DeVries situation is pretty small potatoes compared to some of the previous ones but does that make it okay? Programs and coaches who display integrity and try to do things the right way are usually left at a disadvantage so most will ask why even try and unfortunately they are the ones who are the most likely to still be playing.NEW: Indiana TAMPERED with Darian Devries, He LIED to West Virginia in March Madness, Many Speculate

It’s not even worth it. The guy didn’t want to be here and obviously didn’t have the courtesy to tell the truth when Wren asked if he was leaving.
