Not only was he All-State as a baseball player at Magnolia, he was captain of the All-State team in both baseball and football and he was the Kennedy Award winner as the state Player of the Year in football in 2010. Honor Roll student. Good defender. Athlete. Clutch performer.
One of the things I like about Mazey is that he brings that football vibe to baseball. I dig it. They get hyped, he'll make room for athletes with upside, his boys will respond to trash talk and they get after it. Fox doesn't seem like a talker, but he carries a big stick. He's just one example. Sports like baseball and wrestling are where we can get good return-on-investment in this state. Moreso than football, at least. Good times.
