Guys, this isn't unique here. When a coaching change happens, especially one where the entire culture is going to be flipped it's going to be part of the process. This is something I said several times throughout the past couple years when the discussion of a change popped up and it's important to note that if you wanted a change this was always going to be part of that. These players were recruited and developed bonds with a different staff and truthfully some of them are likely testing the waters as well. It was clear that West Virginia needed to make a move, so there wasn't any point in keeping the status quo. Now, the good news is that just because a player enters the portal doesn't mean he can't come back. It also doesn't prevent West Virginia from going out and getting players either. The portal remains open until Dec. 28, but that just means that players have until then to enter - they can be recruited at any time and commit at any time after that date as well. Another window will open in the spring. Fortunately, the rules have changed quite drastically since Dana Holgorsen or Neal Brown inherited the program and you can add as many players as you need to get to the limit instead of just 25 per cycle.
