I agree I the very loosest sense of the phrase. They do teach us to stand up for what we believe in and think is right and to call out things we believe are incorrect. There is no debating that.
There is also no debating Vindman believed the call was problematic. The question should and will be asked, problematic for whom? There’s no question Trump asked them to look into Biden along with the AG. There is some dirty shit that was going in Ukraine and quite a few people were in on the corruption and payoffs. Vindman being a political hawk decided he needed to warn his side of what was coming so they could start cleaning things up.

Ciarmella was on Biden’s staff and working group for the Ukraine initiative dating back to 2014z We can debate the first point of that, but Schiff already inadvertently disclosed who it was. Vindman disclosed the contents of the call to both Ciarmella and another individual whom used to work in the NSC but began working for Schiff. His name escapes me. Those dots have been connected and were setup and established in the House.
You can say we don’t know about the corruption that was occurring in Ukraine. It’s been established that there was a funneling of money from the USG to the Ukraine, from the Ukraine to select NGOs, who in turn funneled money back to family members via choice jobs and direct contributions into Dem Congressional re-election war chests. The latter has been established as have board seats on NGOs who won contracts in the Ukraine. Again, Biden ran the playbook on Ukraine. Biden’s braggadocios TV interview is also there for everyone to see.
The contents of the President’s call isn’t debatable. He asked the President of Ukraine to assist AG Barr in investigations of the Crowdstrike stuff as well as the Biden’s. Perfectly correct for him to do that. The latter is actually part of the job of the DoJ. The former is Trump wanting to fully clear his name from the Mueller bullshit.
We can argue Vindman’s motives, but he did in fact reach out to NSC staff, Ciarmella and disclose the information. Ciarmella did in fact contact Schiff’s office. My argument is the whole impeachment was meant to stymie any investigation into the Crowdstrike and corruption investigations into Ukraine.
