Unless other things are involved they will never win a recruit over WVU

Sometimes rivals do not play each other every year

Texas/Arkansas for example
Even playing in the major sports every few years the rivalry still exist as the Piggies will always be UT's second biggest rival and UT is the one school the Piggies hate more than a north wind in January

The Backyard Brawl hasnt been played since 2011

I am sure WVU will still say Pitt is their biggest rival

I don't think Carter was trying to be disrespectful.

I personally don't view Marshall U. as a true rival like sPitt or The Hokies.
