with regard to how Title 9 has been applied? For years courts have applied the " Substantial Proportionality" test regarding funding for men and women's athletic programs. In other words the number of scholarships/opportunities afforded to men must be roughly equal to be available for women. This of course belies the fact that there is no women's counter part to football and the 85 scholarships given to men to field a college D-1 football team. This forces the universities to cut historic men's sports like golf, tennis and track and field and devise inane women's sports like crew, lacrosse, etc. that would better be served at the club level. I'm not against Title 9 but take football out of the mix when one applies the substantial proportionality test!
