Results are overrated, as is good policy, and your ability to buy a house or feed your family. What's important when voting is empathy, does your politician understand how you feel?
If you are Black, Joe Biden gets you. He grew up in the Black church, marched for civil rights, and even got arrested a few times because he cares so much. Biden has even spoken out against the 94 Biden Crime Bill.
If a hurricane destroyed your house in Puerto Rico, it's ok. Biden was raised in the Puerto Rican community. He gets you.
If your loved ones were trapped in the Maui fires, Biden knows how you feel. Years ago he almost lost his Corvette and cat in a small kitchen fire.
If you are gay, Biden gets it. 65 years ago he saw two guys making out on the streets of Delaware and his dad said "they love each other Joey." Biden was against gay marriage for the next 50 years but still, he understands.
If you lost a loved one during the botched Afghan withdrawal, Biden understands how you feel. His son died in Iraq.
If you have cancer, Biden understands. His son died from cancer. Biden himself even got cancer from oil slicks on his mom's windshield.
If you work in fossil fuels and are worried about losing your job, Biden gets you. He used to be a coal miner. He even drove a big rig for a while.
If you ride a train, Biden gets you. He is Mr. Amtrak.
If you are poor, it's ok. He's Middle Class Joe and used to sit at the kitchen table with his dad talking about how poor they were.
Biden may not be the hero you deserve, but he is the hero you need. Fifty years of getting nothing done is irrelevant because Joe Biden understands how you feel.
