I know what the scoreboard says....

He's as good as gone. This game did more harm than good for him even though we won it. Fans aren't buying it. The end of the Brown era is near....

Really? If we win out (big if, I know) and finish 8-4, that puts us in a tough spot. But with two games at home, I can see them winning the finale at Texas Tech who is decent but nothing special.

Firing an 8-4 coach is tough to do unless you have a retread coming in who has experience...

Ha. Fair point. That was a different time, when the program had different expectations. We were practically a
a perennial top 25 program and had several years in the top 10-15... We also hired a HC in waiting which was in vogue at the time, and he was already on the staff which Bill S. apparently didn't sign off on, and had reporters "dig up some stuff" on Holgs. I forgot what a shit show that entire thing went lmao...

Also, I think everyone regretted the way BS was hired in the first place after the Fiesta Bowl performance in a drunken state...

And finally I'm not saying we shouldn't fire him, but ending the season on a 5 game win streak and potentially in the mix for a Big 12 championship game would be hard to imagine.

You are making too much sense for most on this board. I will just say great perspective.

We were a perennial top 25 team until Neil Brown took over. Even years we didn't finish in the top 25 we were at least in it most of the last 20 years or more. It's not about wins and losses at this point once we're playing all the scrubs. Brown has lost the fan base and he's not going to get it back. He's a lame duck coach and the only reason we're in the conversation is because Big 12 totally sucks this year. As usual he has already lost the most meaningful games and because of that he's not going to get most of the fan base back. It's a shit show and it has to end

we're in the present not the past...if we had those schedules things would be different but, alas, those type of records will be extremely difficult to match no matter who the coach is.

The B12 is about as weak as the big east was back then right now. Every team in the b12 is overrated this year. Those types of records would be easier to match than anytime since then and it's not even close. Brown is a shit coach or we would be the class of the b12 since Texas and Oklahoma left. Holgs would be ranked 1st with the talent this team has, becsuse he was a much better coach than Brown.

none of what you wrote has even a hint of truth.so unfortunate........yo mama
I understand that you don't know enough about football to realize how overrated the ranked teams in the Big 12 are. I really don't care tho. Brown is the worst coach wvu has had since the 1960s.

I bet you frequently get mistaken for an adult due to your age....You bitch more about our own coach than Rachel Madow does about Trump.

Personal insults when you know you're wrong. It is what it is. Brown sucks and WVU deserves better, and the longer we keep him the worse it's will get as far as fan push back. Wake up lol.

you're going to be busy..Baker already said he's coming back

No he didn't. Gee said he wasn't. Oceantide83 claims it's already a done deal. Replacement already picked. I also heard that from a few peope in Morgantown who claim to have insiders close to the situation, but no one will know until it's official.

I'm going to laugh just like I did last year...Ha Ha Ha!

If they end up keeping him, nobody will be laughing when the fan base further turns on him. If you wish that upon this man, then you must not like him at all. But go right ahead. Keep cheering on the loser coach who very few fans like. Let's just make it easy on him and his family already.

anyone who bothers him or his family probably belongs to the KKK

I don't see how this relates to anything or makes any sense. He's lost the fan base and isn't going to get it back even if he wins out. If it continues into next season, it will be more of the same from Brown which will lead to more ramped up efforts to get rid of him. It's stupid and anyone who wants to continue this garbage needs their head checked. 🙄

talk about stupid..that would be those who are angry with Neal Brown..

is he trying to coach the team to wins?----yes

Did he hire himself?----no

did WVU offer him the job?---yes

Did both parties agree to the contract?--yes

Was the buyout in his contract?---yes

Looks like you're upset with the wrong person(s)

None of that does anything to remove the fact that Neal Brown failed and has to be replaced in order to get WVU football back on track. The buyout sucks but not as bad as airplane banners and hateful billboards. They will figure it out...

Airplane banners and billboards only make the idiots dumb enough to spend money on them look bad. Literally nobody pays attention to such childishness.

For someone who admittedly does not go to games or donate money to the MAC or CRT you seem to want things done without any skin in the game..FSU fans put their money where their mouths are when they raised the $17 million for W Taggert's buyout...our fans are all mouth and no action

I'm sure those FSU fans with that kind of money were people who shoot the sh*t on message boards. We all know most fans are not big donors. Most are just the rank and file fans who contribute by buying merchandise, tickets, and providing ratings to game broadcasts. And some will rightly stop contributing in those ways if the university takes them for granted.

You just make stuff up lol. I never admitted any of the things that you claim but sometimes you probably forget to take your spectrum and your mind goes a little off. I've probably threatened to do those things if we don't straighten up and that time is about coming like it is for a lot of other fans.

I'm pretty sure Baker is seeing the writing on the wall with so many fans turning against Neil Brown. The potential money losses from ticket sales, ratings, merchandise, snacks, all of it, could end up being a heck of a lot more than one of Neil Brown's buyout payments. I'm seeing an overwhelming amount of fans on social media who have thrown in the towel on Brown even if he wins out. I've never seen anything like this, I was too young when it happened to Bowden. I don't think they'll have a problem finding a way to make a payment plan for his buyout

So you're suggesting all WVU fans are the same?

Have heard the money is already there. But if he wins out I seriously doubt he gets fired. Someone has posted that 5-7 he is likely gone, 6-6 is a toss up 7-5 only about 25% chance of losing his job. At 8-4 he stays unless offered a job elsewhere they probably wouldn't stop him from leaving. WVU still has an outside chance to make Big 12 title game but several need to lose and WVU must win out. Both will not happen so probably with a win out or 7-5 finish then it's back to extra helping of Mayo.

Come January 1, 2025 the buyout is down to 85% of salary.

Honestly this reminds me of the Big East since Texas and Oklahoma left. Oklahoma even sucked the last few years before they left. The Big 12 is down right now, and no team has really stepped up like we did in the Big East yet. Right now I think it's a crap shoot and most of the teams are overrated. WVU should be able to step in and be the class of the b12 right now imo. I don't see why not, except for coaching of course. With the right coach we will win.

BYU says hold my 9-0 beer.

The man said 8-4 coaches never get fired. Just showing coaches with 9 wins get fired. Ask Nebraska.

WVU should be able to compete for Big 12 battle every year or at least every 3 years. They are still mathematically in Big 12 title shot.
