WVU football. I have no idea if the Mounties are any better than I thought in early August but the league is much worse than I gave it credit for in late summer! Charlie Strong is probably out at Texas, ISU is just bad, Kansas is looking down the barrel of 0-12, TCU could have lost to Minnesota and Texas Tech, Baylor like WVU has played nobody, Oklahoma needed a miracle to beat the Vols and followed that up with letting Tulsa run up and down the field like Commanches. Red Raiders look to be improved but KSU looks to be not as good as last season. Looks like 9-3 at worse for the Mounties , maybe 10-2 or 11-1.

And if Marshall played West Virginia's schedule they'd be 0-12 or 1-11 at best. Herd defense is so bad they couldn't hold anyone on our schedule under 50 points.

Also the Big 12 is the #2 conference, basically tied with the SEC. Then there's a huge gap to the Big 10/Pac 12, then another huge gap to the ACC. Big 12 has 5/10 teams in the top 25. Marshall doesn't even play a single top 25 all year.

I'd give Marshall two wins against our schedule (Kansas and Liberty). They may be able to upset someone and get to three wins, though.

The Big 12 isn't much.

Certainly suspect...I look for the "Champion" to get pissed on by the playoff committee again, not that I believe that process is fair either!

Pissed on? If you don't beat a single Top 50 team, you don't even deserve to go to ANY bowl game...

All smack aside, I know how good it is to have a positive attitude toward every Saturday, knowing the opportunities are great for our football team and there is a very good chance of us beating a perennial conference power on the road. On the flip side, I know how much it would suck to have a loss already on the schedule at the hands of a MAC team with the upper limit of reasonable expectation being going 9-3 with a schedule rating of about 126. It feels good to be so thrilled about football season.

I don't see Marshall winning 4 more games. Obviously, you BETTER beat the likes of Charlotte and Old Dominion.... But, the rest appear better than Marshall.
We won't lose again before the WKU game.... not that we're any world beaters but because we play flawed teams until the showdown with the 'toppers!

I too give WVU a real shot on Saturday...the Sooners have obvious holes in their team! If the game was in Morgantown, I think WVU would be a lock but it ain't! I worry about WVU being battle tested as they've played weak competition and haven't ventured outside of home yet. That's not your fault as it's not WVU's responsibility to insure Maryland has a respectable team, which they don't! I 'm also concerned about Howard in his first true road game....we'll see but good luck!

You shouldn't, since you won't play any Top 100 teams in that time period...

We won't ...don't sweat it!
I know you won't play any Top 100 teams for a long time...

Not sure where your getting your rankings from but ....we won't lose until the WKU game!

Sagarin. You already lost to one bottom feeder, and almost lost to two more...
Shaky at best...I've seen Jeff rank one tam ahead of another even after the lower ranked beat the shit out of the higher ranked one! But gives us something to mouth about!

His rankings are much more accurate than your qb scouting. Upsets happen every week, so your argument is pretty weak...

Jeff, ranks 'em after the scores are in, sometimes very curiously! I'm not ready to give Howard the Heisman just yet....let's see how the boy does Saturday!

Um... It's 2015.
