It's pretty clear top programs need a GM to handle NIL much like the pros have GM's to handle their contracts & salary cap issues. So, acting like a GM, here is my question (spurred even further by Vernon teasing us with the Chris Henry Jr. post). That was not right V

We would all love to see us get Josiah Trotter back in the fold. And, of course, as unrealistic as it is, I'm sure we all agree we would pay dearly for a Henry Jr. The question is this: WVU is going to have a pool of NIL money to dole out. What is the max percentage of that pool you would feel comfortable giving to a single player? Let's say we have $12m to spread around the football roster next year (just for example...I have no idea what the # really is).

Crazy as it sounds, I assume it's possible a Christ Henry Jr might cost $1.5 to $2m. That's 13-16% of your pool of money. Maybe getting Trotter back could cost us $750k to $1m? That's another maybe 8% of your pool. If you have another dozen or so higher end players that also need paid, you can start coming up short quickly if you over pay for your top 2-3 studs.

Don't want to get silly with this, but just curious if anyone wants to play GM for a day - what is the max % you would give any one single player on the team (let's say a Chris Henry Jr.)? If nothing else, giving this some thought really underscores how important it is to have someone other than your coaching staff working these numbers.
