I, like you guys miss Holton and can't wait for him to get back. He is probably our best defender, MAKES our press go, and is arguably the best offensive rebounder in the country.
But with all of that said this may be what takes us to the next level of competing for the National Championship this year. We have had to win without our normal ferocity of PRESS VIRGINA. We have had to win with a more standard half court defense which has limited our fast break points that we usually thrive on. We have won games without winning the turnover or rebounding battle that is our staple. We have had to make more shots because we aren't getting as many offensive rebounds. Most importantly when we go to the tournament we will have a CONFIDENT Adrian and guys like Watkins and Myles are getting more minutes and confidence. And I think it has forced Esa to step up his game also and in turn leading to more confidence in himself.
Just remember this when we are in the tournament and a team takes away our press or Holton or Williams get in foul trouble. Remember this when we are down two and Adrian hits a three to win the game for us.
It was unforeseen but this transgression by Holton may end up winning us a title;)
