Despite losing several key players off last year's unit, West Virginia ranked second in the Big 12 in scoring defense and third in total defense; the Mountaineers also were second in rushing. Holgorsen, who joined Don Nehlen and Rich Rodriguez as the only West Virginia coaches to record multiple 10-win seasons, was recently rewarded with a five-year contract extension to remain in Morgantown. It is certainly the right choice for the award. The Big 12 just wants to keep everything close to Texas.
How could any coach in that conference not vote for Dana? That's you other good old boy club down there.

The only reason this team won ten games was due to the play of Tony Gibson's defense. If it were not for TG's defense the team would have lost to Baylor, Texas, K state and Byu and 10-2 would be 6-6. Anyone quoting an Espn article knows nothing about sports. It is widely accepted that Espn is to sporting news, what the National Enquirer is to national news.

Coach Holgorsen has already proven to be one of the best WVU ever had, and he'll continue his success at WVU despite the whining so of some know nothings.
