if we want to compete with the upper echelon of this league. The Texas and Baylor's are not getting any smaller and when our "bigs" get bounced around like rag dolls out there, it's not really much of a contest. There will likely be other matchup issues like this in the NCAA's.
By girth I don't necessarily mean Gaithers-like size but simply guys that can demonstrate an ability to withstand the physical nature of play that many of these other teams bring.
Our guard play looks to have a promising future with the roster and those incoming. Our "bigs" outside of Williams, all play below their stated height from a physical standpoint. I'm not sure where Macon needs to be physically but my guess is that needs to strengthen without slimming too awfully much.
Does Huggs believe we desperately need another big? That's all that really matters...
