first off I see little shame in losing to No. 3 who had been No. 1 & has the likely National Player of the Year.
otherwise, have to agree on the notion...who then are the top 20 teams?
Oklahoma - had lost 3 of four heading into today, 2 games against unranked. In no way does that make them unworthy. See today.
Texas - got beat by Baylor in Austin today. Same TX that Swept WVU, beat UNC, I-State, at Baylor, etc.
Iowa lost to Penn State. Same Iowa who swept Mich State.
Maryland was swept by 2 unranked teams. But to be fair has 22 wins, 1 over Iowa.
list goes on and on and has since the season tipped in November.
to me, it's more about the resume & NCAA seed. I'll take those numbers over a regular season ranking. now the final ranking is a neat nod of respect and barometer.
WVU is a high quality, highly respected team playing in the midst of a stretch of 6 of 7 games vs ranked opponents, quality teams, tough teams, however best described. so far we are 2-3 vs that gauntlet.
