Give me YOUR number of wins

My problem with Stewart came after he tried to renege on the deal he agreed to, via backdoor means with the Pittsburgh press. For a man who would often claim his word was his bond, he certainly proved otherwise. I lost all respect I had for him over that incident. Before that I thought he got a raw deal.

There's an old saying that "A card laid is a card played." Stew thought he could pull a joker from a Pittsburgh deck.

If he hadn't died before it all sank in, he would likely be more hated than Rich for what he tried to do to the university.

I've heard a lot about everything that went down with all of that and it greatly depends on who you are talking and how they seen through their own jaded glasses.

Stewart was told by his boss what was going to happen over the coming couple years and he thought to change things in his favor and he didn't mind throwing WVU under the bus to achieve his goals.

People really dont want to address the real problem that occurred with Stewart and Dana's hirings. They were allowed to hire people that were woefully underqualified for positions that they should have never been in.

EP let Stewart hire Mullins and Johnson

Olly let Dana hire DeForest and Roberts

That is one hiring an OC that was never an OC and one hiring a DC that was never a DC. They both were allowed to hire buddies and what they did was detrimental to WVU who were paying them millions. They put doing a favor for friends above WVU and all of WV.

No one ever wants to talk about how culpable Garrison and EP were for the Stewart fiasco along with Clements and Oliver Luck for the Dana fiasco.

No oversight on their hires and we paid for it.

nice....and gutless

you are easy to criticize about someone you never met
vice rewarding a coach who stayed and won the Fiesta. ...
and we never would have been invited to b12 without stomping out Oklahoma ...

keep hoping for the
hair plugs coach, return....

10 year WVU coach....what did you do for WVU in that 10 years?

"There's mass confusion on the WVU sideline" - Erin Andrews comment vs Colorado.

And remember, if not for the Tron Martinez fumble, WVU would have lost to Moo U in Huntington. Doc knew EVERY play Stewart was running.

BTW, I have known Bill Stewart since he came to Sistersville HS in 1975 for his first coaching job under Tom Swisher. He left after his second season. Sistersville went 2-8 in both my freshman and sophomore seasons. Yet, some here in Sistersville and the delusionals in New Martinsville think he is God Almighty. "Leave No Doubt" was a great motivational speech, but at the end of the day, that 15 minutes of fame has worn itself out.

The number you personally want to see to be confident in Coach Holgorsen going forward.

Not what the University should expect but your personal number that would sway or continue for you to want and keep Coach Holgorsen.

I will say 8 is the absolute lowest depending on circumstances (already 3 defensive contributors lost) which should be factored in. 9 is my number I personally want to see based on the talent WVU has and I honestly believe that is reasonable.

Anything less than 8 and I'm not going to be very hopeful moving forward. WVU can be a 9-10 win team whether that's with Coach Holgorsen or not is yet to be seen.

P.S. I think a 4-0 start would definitely be enough to show the program is headed in the right direction, anything less than that and the chair is going to get warm.Starting 4-0 means you can go to Tech and get to 5-0 with TCU coming in. IMO this is exactly what needs to happen for everyone to get behind Coach Holgorsen.

My opinion is irrelevant as far as whether he keeps his job or not, but I think 9 regular season wins and a 10th win coming in the bowl would satisfy me. I don't want to forever be looking for our next coach, unlike some here, so I would prefer Dana do well.

We have not finished a season ranked in the top 25 since the 2011 drubbing of Clemson when we finished 17/18. In the four seasons since then, we lost bowl games to Syracuse and Texas A&M, won a bowl game against AZ St and failed to go to a bowl game one of those years too (2013). Really if we are not ranked in the top 25 to close the regular season then the Holgerson experiment should come to an end. Let an assistant coach take the interim job for the bowl game (if we get one) and escort Dana out of the building.

No matter whether we win 6 games or 14, we need to either sign DH or dump him. This waffling is killing recruiting and that's on the AD. This decision should already have been made. Decisiveness is essential.
