WVU Release Game Times Set for NCAA Tournament Second and Third Rounds

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 12, 2017) – The No. 7-ranked and second-seeded West Virginia University women’s soccer team will play host to second- and third-round matches in the 2017 NCAA Tournament on Nov. 17 and 19, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.



The Mountaineers (16-3-2, 7-1-1) will face No. 22-ranked Rutgers (13-2-5, 6-2-3 Big Ten) in the second of two matches Friday night, with kick set for 7 p.m. No. 10 Penn State (13-4-4, 6-2-3 Big Ten) and No. 24 Wake Forest (11-5-4, 5-4-2 ACC) will kick at 4 p.m. in the first contest.



The winners of Friday’s matches will meet Sunday in the tournament’s third round at 5 p.m.



Tickets for Friday’s matches are on sale now at WVUGAME.com. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and youth and $2 for groups of 10 or more. WVU students will be admitted for free with a valid WVU Student I.D.

The 2016 NCAA National Runner-Up, WVU advances to the tournament’s second round for the third straight season and the 12th time in program history. This weekend marks the third time in three years the Mountaineers will play host to the second- and third-round matches since the NCAA adopted the current tournament format in 2011.



The Mountaineers opened the 2017 NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 win over Bucknell on Nov. 11, in Morgantown. The Scarlet Knights defeated La Salle 3-1 yesterday in Piscataway, New Jersey.
