No. that is wrong. The costs statistics are not apples to apples. One uses the cost of the appeals and attorneys and the other does not.

In Va, when the defendants sentence is death. It automatically is kicked to a lawyer who’s specifically qualified for the appeal. That was my point about ole sparky. A guy by name of Morva was executed here. He escaped from jail and murdered a couple of people .
Those are all nonsense. Step back and look at it logically. Capital crime or not, It is typically the same multi-day trial, with the same government paid defense attorneys and prosecutors, presided over by the same judge, with the same costs of appeal. The difference is we aren’t paying to sustain a life of one while we terminate the other.I'm not sure where I'm spreading misinformation. I stated an opinion that I don't think Biden should have pardoned his son. Also stated an opinion that I don't think Trump should either. I didn't state that he did or was going too, just simply saying that I don't think he should, so no misinformation there. I think Biden opened Pandora's box by pardoning his son and now the left has no business complaining if Trump does as well. I won't be happy about it but no argument against it now. I'm not a believer in "do as I say, not as I do". As far as the expense of executions, I never believed it as well but as I read more about it seems that I was wrong. I actually fact checked myself before I wrote that last night just to be sure. So again, I'm not sure where I'm offering misinformation. Personally, I'm not against the death penalty. I don't think it is a deterrent at all, unfortunately people are going to do what they do. I do worry about executing people who may be not guilty. I know with the advances in DNA they've actually proven that some people have been cleared after being executed. That being said it allows the possibility of the Ted Bundys of the world to live and potentially escape, although, even on death row he could potentially escape since it takes about 15-20 years to actually execute someone. There are valid arguments on both sides. I am very socially liberal but death penalty is one aspect where I'm still not sure where I stand. I was one of the six lawyers in Virginia on the Capital Murder Defense Team to defend the poorer defendants charged with capital offenses. It was disbanded several years ago when funds ran out. I did get to work alongside who I believe to be the best criminal defense attorney in viriginia. Some of those guys were legit.
