Because our companies are buying up all the land and we will send in third world immigrants to replace the quarter million dead Ukrainian men to work cheap and tend the farms and then sell the wheat to the world.

I think there is misinformation that Ukraine does not want to fight for their homeland (I spend 4 years living in Russia and visited Ukraine many times). With regard to US support or funding for that war, go back and read about Adolf Hitler's actions at the beginning of WW2 where he took over countries, some without firing a shot. Putin has many Hitler like tendencies and is looking at a much more significant land grab. If the US had flexed their muscles in 1937-1938 we likely would not have had the significant cost from WW2.

So Hunter Biden's bank account can stay funded well enough to pay "the big guy".

Throwing money at this problem was never going to solve it. Preventing it was the first solution. I would concentrate where the current Administration screwed that up and why. Russia will now continue to slow roll it so we keep throwing money at it. This could lead to a war with not only Russia but it's allies. That's all the Brics Nations and the Middle East. We are going to need to get back in the gym before flexing our muscle against all that. Which will include terrorists attack here.

That’s certainly the take of the NeoCon element of DC and the old ColdWar fossils as well as everyone making money off of this invasion. It’s a big leap to take the current situation and extrapolate that into the domino theory you’re advancing.

Other context would suggest that Putin has been extremely transparent about Ukraine and it being a redline for them. We know, based on the Wikileaks stuff that our own Ukrainian ambassador under Hillary’s DoS informed us of Putin’s position on Ukraine. We didn’t listen and Obama’s admin executed the Maidan Revolution in 2014 effectively executing a Coup on the Russian aligned administration in Ukraine.

Putin responded by invading and annexing Crimea in 2015.

The West responds by igniting a civil war in the Russian aligned Donbas region. This goes on for 5 years before Putin responds again. This time by invading the Donbas.

One could argue, Putin was very transparent and he’s been very calculating and measured in his responses to perceived western aggression. At this point, he knows the west doesn’t have the heart for a prolonged conflict, he can just wait us out.

Crimea is gone, the Donbas east of the Dnipro River is gone. Kyiv is likely going to resemble Berlin or very close to an east/west Germany when this is all said and done. Ukraine never had a real chance in this fight. What this was, was an opportunity to bloody Russia and make it spend a lot of money using a lot of Ukrainian blood in the process.

All that said, Ukraine has a right to choose its destiny free from invasion threat, but to act like the West hasn’t had our hand up the ass working Ukraine like a sock puppet for 10 years is disingenuous.

We did not heed his warning of the military/industrial complex and its influence on our political system.

That’s such a tired trope. The MIC, it’s like millions and millions of jobs. It’s not some boogeyman. If you killed the MIC tomorrow, you’d have more people out of work than when they shut the country down for COVID.

And the cold reality is, we need to stay on the bleeding edge of defense tech. Or world peace needs to break out. Barring the latter, which I think we can agree isn’t going to happen, then we need outlets to send all of our old outdated shit to.

The ranting about the MIC is so misplaced and stupid. It’s myopic thinkers wishing for a world that doesn’t exist and likely never will.

Wow! No, there is NOT misinformation. Ukranian men are dying at an alarming rate. They have inserted way past their prime males into battle, only some are voluntary. If the USA flexed their muscles from Jan 2021 - 2024 like they did from Jan 2017 to 2021 we likely would not have had the significant cost of Ukranian and Russian deaths along with so much tax payer money down the tube.

All the more reason to support it now and hope to avoid WW3.

We are past the point of reliving the past with should have, etc. Stop the dictator at the first border.

Not sure where you are coming from, but as I said, look at history and how similar Putin is to Hitler. Better to intercede now as opposed to when he has killed millions and taken many countries. Pretty simple.

You should go volunteer to fight. Ukraine is taking volunteers. I'll loan you all the gear you will need with a deposit of its value. As far as the majority of American's on all political sides. They have no more interest in giving anymore money to Ukraine that's not going to make a difference. You need to start begging Biden to negotiate a peace deal. Or hope Trump wins and Putin stops only keeping what he took so far.

They’re not similar at all. And he’s got no intention of taking anything more than a buffer to his nation, just as he warned he would do if we interfered.
