The Kentucky team I watched last night is a great team, probably the best of all time. But it occurred to me that even the wealthiest NBA teams have to go by the draft and league laws.. They can't just wonder around the world and cherry pick the cream of the crop. That is what Kentucky has done, either legally or no.
This reminds me of the old days when steel mill towns and industrial centers used to recruit high school players that were the best and employ their families. It was brutal to watch.
If Kentucky can gather such forces and do so even remotely close to the rules of amateur sports and the Luck NCAA, then great.
